Our Beliefs
Phi Beta Chi's History and Beliefs
We are a non-denominational organization but we were founded on Lutheran beliefs and Phi Beta Chi takes pride in its Lutheran Heritage. The ideals of Phi Beta Chi were formed out of a Lutheran understanding of the world and are set forth in the sorority’s creed. The sorority was founded on the Lutheran belief that we are people of God in Christ Jesus, saved by grace through faith. In response to God's gift of salvation we
-
Do good works and serve others
-
Offer praise and thanksgiving to God
-
Live by Christ's example
-
Use our gifts and talents to our fullest potential

These principles are related to the ideals in the Phi Beta Chi Creed.
-
Service -- Service to Church and Humanity, Campus leadership/Greek society
-
Praise and thanksgiving -- Faithful and energetic Christian leaders, Spiritual development
-

-

We offer spiritual growth activities and encourage faith development in addition to the regular sorority opportunities for social and leadership development. Being women of faith is important to us and our members can feel comfortable expressing their faith by word and action.

Some of our basic Christian beliefs are
-
There is one God that exists in three persons. The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
-
The Bible is the true word of God and is the ultimate authority.
-
We believe in the virgin birth of Jesus, his sinless life and miracles, his death, his resurrection, his ascent into heaven and his future return.
-
The only path to salvation is through Christ alone and whoever believes in him will have eternal life.
